That sky lift was scary for me, and I’m not even afraid of heights! I think you made a wise decision, Tom. It was stairs that went STRAIGHT up the side of the crater. You always knew how far off the ground you were

And yes, the Udo post will be up tonight! It’s unfortunate you didn’t get to go; the island was charming!

Climbing Halla Mountain for me…I *almost* got to the top, but didn’t think I’d make it as far as I did. I’m also surprised I didn’t slip out of the Sky Lift in Seoul Grand Park and die.

Sunrise Peak though – EEK! I could see it from the pension that I stayed in with my bf and his family and ohmygod I firmly said, “No. Way.” to going up there. It looks way too high for me and I think I’d have just gotten dizzy and miserable. I’m glad you posted this so that I know what’s at the top now (and how sucky it would have been to climb it!), but I still think I’ll just admire it from afar.

Also, will there be a post on Udo soon? I really wanted to go there but the weather sucked when I was in Jeju, so ferries operating to the islands around Jeju weren’t running, or where operating sporadically at best. Boo.

I find climbing and hiking to be two of my favorite things to do while traveling, yet like you, I think death is imminent every time I try! Glad we both made it

This is similar to when we decided to walk the coastal trail in San Francisco. It was over 7 miles… and all up and down, up and down. I thought my lungs would pop.
